Device Overview & Update

This panel provides an overview of the tracking system status and provides a user interface for managing Anchors and Trackers.

Status Panel

This panel provides status information on the tracking system. Depending on the system type, this panel will look differently.

  • MINI and SMART

    On MINI and SMART systems, the panel displays the status of the tracking system. On these system types, the IP is always 127.0.0.1.

  • PRO

    On PRO systems, the panel displays the status of the tracking system as well as the system's tracking coordinator and primary parameters, such as the update rate. The panel provides a button to directly access the Kinexon Web Interface for advanced configuration tasks.

Tracking Config

Selecting the Tracking Config button accesses the tracking configuration window. The tracking system can be further fine-tuned beyond the app' and web monitor' provided controls by adding or modifying configuration lines.

Note

A bad configuration may lead to malfunction of the tracking system, so changes should only be made when specifically instructed.

Anchor and Tracker Management

Detected Anchors and Trackers are listed below the status panel. On MINI and SMART systems, firmware updates can be performed by selecting one or multiple Trackers using the checkbox and clicking on Update. All Trackers can be updated at once by selecting the 3_Menu_Dots.png button and selecting Update all. The panel also offers an option to discover new devices on MINI systems.

Note

On PRO systems, Anchors and Trackers have to be in the current showfile (associated with an Anchor position or part of an Actor) or in the Device List in order to be activated within the tracking system.

Travel Mode (SMART & MINI)

Trackers can be put into Travel Mode, a deep sleep state that reduces power consumption to a minimum. While in Travel Mode, a fully charged Tracker lasts approximately 10 days. Trackers can thus be kept ready during transport, storage and multi-day productions without worrying about the battery.

  1. In the Tracker list, select the checkbox next to each Tracker to enable Travel Mode.

  2. Remove all selected Trackers from the charging bay for bringing them online.

  3. Select the 3_Menu_Dots.png button and choose Travel Mode.

  4. In the dialog, optionally enable the Disable LED option and tap the Activate button to confirm.

  5. The selected Trackers will enter Travel Mode. If the LED was not disabled, it will blink green twice at an interval of approx. 20 seconds. When the battery level drops below 10%, the color changes to red.

Tip

Just disconnect the charging station from USB power to bring all Trackers online. After enabling Travel Mode on all devices, the entire charging station holding all Trackers can be put into the case for further transport.

Trackers in Travel Mode can be brought back to normal operation by putting them back into the powered charging station. Reactivation can take up to 30 seconds.
