Mount

The first step for the setup at the venue is the mounting of all tracking, control and networking equipment

Anchors

In order to track targets on the stage area, Anchors must be placed around the perimeter. The MINI system has 1 Master Anchor and 5 more wireless Anchors to cover small-sized stages up to approx 15x15 meters (50 x 50 feet). All 6 devices shall be distributed around the stage.

The Anchors can be mounted in multiple ways:

  • On a standard microphone stand with a 3/8" connection thread

  • Hanging on a clamp using the mounting hole on the top and a safety cable attached through the smaller hole

A few rules for Anchor placement:

  • Distribute the 6 Anchors around the tracking area. Do not focus on just 1 or 2 sides. This ensures radio communication in any direction to which the target is moving.

  • Place the Anchors at 2m height or more, if possible. This avoids other objects or people on the stage area blocking the signal from/to the Anchors.

  • Mount the Anchors upright, the front side facing towards the stage.

  • Place the Master Anchor (server) in a minimum distance to the other Anchors. All wireless Anchors need to communicate with the Master Anchor. They should be in a distance of max. 15 meters (50 feet).

  • Sort the Anchors in a logical order. Mount them with ascending label numbers clockwise or counter-clockwise. This ensures easier identification later on.

The Anchors are battery-powered. If the system is intended for longer usage, provide continuous power via the USB-C chargers.

Server (Master Anchor)

As the MINI server also serves as an Anchor, it is part of the Anchor distribution made in the above step. The server can also be operated in battery mode or constantly powered using an USB-C charger.

Trackers

Connect the charging bay to USB-C power and place all Trackers into the bay. The charging bay will light up in white once USB-C power is present.

Note

If the charging bay is disconnected from USB-C power, all Trackers will go online, as if they would when being taken out of the bay.

Power on

  1. Switch on the Master Anchor.

The LED on the front of the device will start to blink in blue color when ready.

  2. Switch on the wireless Anchors.

The LED on the front of the devices will start to blink in blue color when ready and communicating with the Server.
