Update Rate

  • The update rate describes how often a measurement is carried out per second.

  • A low update rate is extremely visible with start / stop events or changes in the direction

  • The update rate can be described as the react-ability of the system

  • More active Trackers in a system will decrease the update rate

  • More Anchors in a system will also decrease the update rate

Tip

For Lighting application at least use 15Hz

For Audio application at least use 5Hz

Warning

Plan and check your update rate to avoid undesired behaviour

Each active UWB device needs a slot in the UWB communication frame. More slots will create a larger frame which will decrease the refresh rate. Depending on the used Hardware the systems have different frame sizes.

Since Update 3.24.0.0 the MINI and the SMART System can divide a single slot into 2, 3 or 4 Subslots. Making it so one single slot can hold more trackers. This allows different update rates for different trackers.

Tip

With Subslots it is possible to mix low frequncy trackers for only audio and high frequency trackers for lighting.

Set up the necessary tracker amount with high and low update rate under Tracking Settings in the App. The Anchor communication is also wireless. This will decrease the available frame size.

Note

The tracker amount is for active trackers only. The system can handle up to 30 inactive trackers.

The PRO System is the most flexible system in case of tracker and anchor amount.

Every single active Tracking device (Anchor or Tracker) will change the update rate.
